I have a 36ft "A" Class and tow a jeep behind. I was at the Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA for 2 nights in Late June of 2023. This campground would definitely fall into the category of RV Resort. The roads within the RV Resort campground are gravel but level and smooth. There was more than plenty of room to maneuver. The camp sites were well maintained and clean. We stayed in one of their premium sites with a patio, bbq and firepit. We were right across from the outdoor pool, which was a bonus because I had my two grand children with me. I should mention that the Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA also has an indoor pool!
There are not a lot of trees in the camping area itself, and the camp sites were pretty close together. If you prefer privacy, this would not be your campground. Those with children will find that this is a place the children will love!
The RV Resort camp store is fully stocked and, in addition, has a ton of local souvenir type things, you can also buy firewood for $7 a bundle.
They had a great playground, bouncer, mini golf and bike rentals. In addition, they had ongoing activities planned in their clubhouse/game room like tie-dye t-shirt painting for the kids. What I liked most, having the children with me, is that all the kid activities were close together so that I could keep an eye on them easily. The activity staff, more like camp counselors, were great with the kids!
We were there at the weekend so there was also entertainment! The night we were there they had a magician who was a huge hit with the kids. My grand daughter actually got pulled up on stage to be part of the show! Honestly it was like Summer camp for families!
The bathrooms were clean and in good repair. Showers were private and clean. I used the laundry facilities and the machines were clean and in good repair and had plenty of machines. They are quarter operated.
The campground is just minutes from Warrenton for Groceries and Gas, as well as Astoria. About 20 minutes down 101 South you will find Seaside, which is a great family beach town and a another 15min south you’ll find Cannon Beach and the famous Haystack Rock.
Overall I would highly recommend this campground, especially to families with young children. There is so much to do there for kids! If you’re looking for peace and quiet, it may not be what you’re looking for.
